Adjoins Castle Rock Horse Trails, 15 miles of trail.

  

 

Camping  

Has corrals, electric, water.
    To reserve a campsite call:  608-564-2233 (Ukarydee)
    You must make your own campsite reservations/arrangements
    Come camp with us -or- haul in to join us for a day of trail riding

With over 20 miles of signed trails and 11 campsites large enough to accommodate trucks with trailers, this has become a popular destination for horseback riders.

 

  Driving Directions
  • Get to Merrill, Wisconsin
  • From Merrill, take Highway K North for 8.5 miles
  • Turn right (East) onto Highway H
  • Turn right (East) again onto Copper Lake Road. The Underdown parking area will be on the right-hand side of the road.

 

 

Trails

Underdown Trails MAP
      The horseback riding trail network is made up of 18, 12, 10 and 3.5 mile loops, which are marked and maintained.  21 miles of 44,600-ace Underdown Recreation Area is open to horseback riders, mountain bikers and hikers in the summer and cross country skiiers in the winter.

Camping  

The campground has toilet facilities, a year round hand pump well and 10 campsites large enough for trucks and trailers.
